When comparing high-tea packages, the headline price rarely tells the whole story. Two packages can sound similar while including very different amounts of tableware, delivery, setup, staffing, food, pack-down or cleaning. The useful comparison is what you will actually need to organise yourself after the package is booked.
Compare like with like
A low advertised price may cover only the food or only the hire. Another package may include delivery, linen, setup, staff and cleaning. Put the inclusions side by side before deciding which is genuinely cheaper.
Watch for minimums and surcharges
Ask about minimum guest numbers, delivery zones, weekend charges, venue fees and hire bonds. These costs can change the final total significantly.
Value includes your time
DIY can save money when you enjoy setup and have helpers. If you would otherwise spend hours transporting, washing and packing fragile items, a service-inclusive package may represent better value even at a higher price.
Choose the package that fits the event
For a casual catch-up, keep it simple. For a milestone birthday, shower or life celebration, reliability and support may matter more than finding the absolute lowest per-person price.
Compare inclusions carefully
Ask for a written list of what is supplied, delivered, set up and collected. That makes it much easier to compare packages on real value rather than headline price.
Value can mean less work, not only a lower price
A package that includes delivery, setup and collection may be better value for a busy host than a cheaper hire-only option once transport and time are considered. On the other hand, someone who enjoys styling and has easy transport may prefer to pay only for the tableware. Compare the work left with you as carefully as the dollars on the quote.
